Flannel Finds

Fall means lots of things. Pumpkins, Halloween, boots, PSLs, squash, new sitcoms (have ya’ll seen Marry Me?!), apples and what have you. To me though, above all, fall screams FLANNELS…and any other cute plaid shirt I come across that I also refer to as a “flannel” (OOPS!). Here are a few that I have been eyeing as of late. Enjoy :)

Tassel Trendz

As of late, I have been uh-bsessedddd with tassel. Why you ask? IDK, maybe because it’s super cute. Or maybe because I am channeling my inner college graduate (and secretly wishing I was 22 again). Or maybe because it’s on trend now, DUH! Anyway, on my recent trip to Nordstrom (aka, the promised land) I found the trendiest tassels in town. Ch-ch-check it out.

The Higher the Heel, The Closer to God

My life’s mission is to find comfortable shoes, especially with a little bit of height  - heels, wedges, pumps, what have you – because well, I’m about 3 inches away from being cast on that Little People show on TLC (READ: I’m barely 5’1).

ANYWAY…I am writing to tell you all that I found THE.BEST.SUMMER.HEEL.EVER at Nordstrom recently. Ever I tell you. It’s a chunky heel made by Söfft and it is just SO COMFORTABLE — never-ending graduation ceremonies, late night dance parties, long bar nights – comfortable, and well, I just couldn’t help but share.

Hats off to the Weekend!

Philadelphia’s Newest Hipster

Juuuuuust kidding. Calling me hipster is like calling Rihanna preppy…it just isn’t in the cards for us. BUT, I did just make my first hipster-ish purchase: a pair of Warby Parker glasses. And you know what? I kind of liked it.

Let me start off by saying that Warby Parker is not your typical glasses company. Their specs sport a unique look of their own – stylishly vintage, yet refined – and they’ve got about a million pairs to choose from, which basically means that whether you’re a hipster or a lawyer (or both?), there’s a pair for you. Want to know the BEST part? The glasses will cost you about $95, frame and prescription INCLUDED. Crazy, right? I know! Here’s how it works: Go online and select up to five pairs of glasses at a time for try on (for FREE) and once you find your match, place the order and they’ll get delivered to your doorstep. OR, you can track down one of their showrooms and try on as many as you want, the good old-fashioned way (which is what I did at Art in the Age in Old City, oops!). Added bonus: when you buy a pair, they’ll donate a pair to someone in need. How sweet is that?!

Mid-Rings & Things

Mid-Rings & Things by www.girlmeetsmarket.com featuring:
Mid-rings. Everybody’s doing it. They’re kind of like chokers in the 90′s, or chunky highlights circa…well, I don’t know, but remember when Kelly Clarkson rocked them during her AI heyday? [Love ya, Kel!] Anywho, I personally think these new baubles are just adorbs. They’re not too flashy, but at the same time, they are the perfect pieces to add a little pizzaz to your wardrobe and show the world that you’re on trend. Same thing goes for knuckle and thumb rings. While I personally prefer gold and dainty, as seen above (except for that bad-ass chevron piece in the upper right), almost anything could work. Also, confession: since these are just a trend, I pinched my shiny pennies and snatched up a few from Nordstrom Rack. I saved some dollas and my hands have never looked so fiiiine.

I don’t hate it.
